An Ounce of Prevention

By Al Skoropa

How To Keep Your EZ-Screen Running In Tip-Top Shape

Nothing makes me happier than helping our customers with their EZ-Screen machines, whether finding an obscure part or helping troubleshoot a repair. So, you could say that it’s my kind of thing. But, of course, it’s probably even better if I don’t hear from you. That means that you’re happy. It means that your machine is working hard, making your job easier and, more importantly, making you money!

Ensuring this kind of dependability takes work. Our goal is to make machines that work hard for you, day in and day out. We aim to supply you with a powerful tool to support your success. Our products are rugged workhorses, and the tenacity is up to you. With that in mind, the adage holds that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” In this case, prevention and proper maintenance are team players.

We can’t stress enough the importance of following the required maintenance schedule in your manual. Sometimes a simple oversight, such as forgetting to properly lubricate moving parts or failing to replace a soiled filter, can lead to catastrophic and costly failures down the road.

Luckily, there are simple things that you can do every time you use your EZ-Screen to keep it running in tip-top shape. Anytime you are getting ready for a run, you should be sure to:

  • Check Fuel and Engine Oil Levels
  • Check Air Filters. Are they clean? Dirty filters can lead to engine failures.
  • Check Your V-Belts. Are they adequately tensioned?
  • Check Your Screens. Loose screens are far more likely to break!

It’s never a bad idea to give your machine a good looking over every time you use it. Does everything look the way it should? Are all your machine’s guards, doors, and compartments in good working order? Do you hear any new or strange sounds or notice any changes in performance? Sometimes minor signs or changes can indicate big problems. At the end of the day, even though we may have built it—nobody knows your machine better than you do. So, listen to your machine, care for your machine, and trust your instincts.

If in doubt—just give us a call.
