| Sand screens or sand sifters can be tricky. If the opening is too big, you won't get a fine material, if the screen is too small, you're production will be very slow. The first step in screening sand is to decide how fine is the sand you need screened? For example, a sand screen equipped with a 1 ¼” top deck and a 3/8” bottom piano wire deck may be too wide, as the material will simply flow through the top deck and flood the bottom one. By the same token, a sand sifter set-up utilizing a 3/16” bottom screen, or even smaller, might possibly slow sand screen production to a trickle. Remember, the more wire, the smaller the openings, and that will result in less sand sifted. Click here for more information on: Topsoil Screening, Gravel Screening, Mulch Screening, Recycling |
